Two people are killed while 16 victims are injured in a Wisconsin accident involving a car and a school bus.

The Wisconsin State Patrol reported that a car, driven by Tiffany Hostetler, was traveling west on County Highway B and did not stop at a stop sign. She and her 3 year old daughter, Elanora Hutton, were killed when their car ran into a school bus which had the right away. The other passenger in Hostetler’s car, 5 year old Marshall Hutton, was flown to a local hospital where she remains in critical condition. Both victims of the Wisconsin car vs school bus accident died at the scene of their injuries.

The Wisconsin school bus was transporting the Spooner High School Volleyball team to a game. As a result of the car accident the school bus ended up in a water filled ditch. Fortunately the water was not that deep and all passengers on the bus were able to exit the damaged bus through the rear emergency exit. The students were treated and released since there were no serious injuries to the school bus accident victims.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is currently investigating the bus crash that occurred on Highway 63 at the intersection of County Highway B. State Patrol stated that Hostetler was traveling at a high rate of speed when she failed to stop at the stop sign hitting the bus as they came to the intersection.

The Spooner school district was quoted saying: “While the fatalities being reported did not involve those traveling on the bus, the Spooner Area School District wishes to offer support and caring thoughts to all those involved. Our hearts are with the families and communities that are most affected by this incident.”

The names of the car accident victims are being withheld until relatives are notified. Meanwhile the Wisconsin State Patrol is still investigating the cause of the crash.

The Wisconsin car and bus accident attorneys at GLR would like to extend their condolences to the family and friends of the accident victims. They urge drivers to be very carefully while driving especially since fall school season gets underway.
