Two Dead, Two Injured in Boat Crash Near Milwaukee Lake Shore
Milwaukee police reported that a boat traveling near Hoan bridge in Lake Michigan hit a break wall and started to sink. Two women from that boat where pulled off of the break wall shortly before mid-night. The bodies of two dead men were recovered from the water by the Milwaukee Dive Rescue Team. The fatal boat accident victims have yet to be identified by the Milwaukee police department.
Boat accident witnesses said that they heard the boat crash but couldn’t see anything in the darkness. Then right after the crash they heard people yelling for help. The two women, ages 23 and 22, rescued from the break wall were transported to a Milwaukee hospital and are expected to make a full recovery.
The Milwaukee Coast Guard does not believe that weather was a factor in the boat accident as the water conditions had been calm and visibility was good. It was noted that none of the victims were wearing a life jacket at the time of the accident which could have saved the lives of the men that drown. The Coast Guard and Milwaukee Police Department are investigating the cause of the fatal boating accident.
