Two Women in Custody and Two Men Dead After a Stolen Vehicle Crash

A two vehicle crash on Milwaukee’s Northside left two men dead. Police officers reported that individuals in a stolen KIA were going away from the police pursuit tailing them when the female driver in the KIA ultimately drove off.

The driver headed six blocks north and then struck a Malibu at the intersection of Sherman Boulevard and Roosevelt Drive. According to police officers at the scene, the impact of the accident was so severe that car parts were littered along the street for nearly an entire block.

One witness to the accident said he could not even see people in the car and that the seats were folded up. At the time of the crash, Milwaukee police said that they were still pursuing the KIA and it was unclear how fast the driver of that vehicle was going.

Speeding is one of the leading causes of car accidents today, and the driver and passenger of the Malibu in Milwaukee are the ones who paid the ultimate price for the negligent KIA driver’s action. The two women inside the KIA were arrested at the scene of the accident and taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

Driving away from an attempted police pursuit and becoming involved in an accident may leave responsible drivers paying the price in terms of criminal as well as civil penalties. If you spot a police car behind you attempting to stop you, it is important to stop and remain calm. Proceeding in the heat of the moment and being nervous about the police car tailing you could lead to being distracted while operating a vehicle and causing a serious accident much like this one.
